2. Purchase a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Import Permit.
3. Purchase a Cites Permit if needed.
4. After clearing U.S. Customs your items must be presented for inspection to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
If you do not do this every time you are breaking the law and the penalties and fines are stiff.

2. We ship fast and FREE! most items are received within 3 to 4 days from purchase.
Purchasing insects from overseas can take up to two months to receive and always run the risk of
getting stuck in customs or fish and wildlife in which case if permits were not purchased you may never
receive the package just a hefty fine.
 
3. We sell only quality shadowbox displays made by us.
Most framed butterflies and insects sold overseas are cheaply made cardboard or plastic frames
filled with cotton. These may look ok in photos but in person they look really cheap and especially
bad when the poorly prepared insects leave dirt and mold in the cotton.
 
4. We use only American made 99% uv resistant glass in our displays.
This means your butterflies or insects won't fade over time. No other insect display makers
use this museum quality conservation glass which means their framed specimens will start fading immediately.
This glass costs a lot more but we think your investment is worth it (beware of dealers that claim to be uv
resistant if it's not 99% it won't protect your investment)
 
5. We use true acid free archival backing materials in our displays which mean your displays will last a lifetime.
Framed insects purchased overseas do not use these materials.
 
6. We use only A1 quality specimens. 
This means our butterflies will have natural antennae that are fully intact with no rips, tears or stains on the wings.
Our beetles and insects will have all parts intact. Most other sellers usually sell insects well below the A1 grade.
 
7. We spread all of our butterflies and insects to museum standards.
Many insects purchased overseas will be poorly spread.

CAN I REMOVE THE INSECTS FROM THE FRAMES?
All of our specimens are permanently mounted onto their backing cards with glue and the displays are permanently sealed.

We do not ship pinned, riker mounted or un-mounted specimens..

IS THE INSECT PICTURED THE ACTUAL ONE THAT I WILL RECEIVE?
Since we sell so many insects we can not provide individual pictures of every specimen that we sell. We do guarantee that the insect you receive will look as good as or better than the stock photo used.

IS THE FRAME INCLUDED WITH THE INSECT OR IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE?
All items are mounted in a natural wood display with a sealed glass face on an acid free backing board at no additional charge.

DO YOU SELL YOUR FRAMES EMPTY?
Unfortunately, since we sell so many insects we can barely keep up with making the frames we need for our own use.

ARE THESE BUTTERFLIES AND INSECTS REAL?
Yes all of the insects are real and are in their natural state. These insects have all been raised in farms, aviaries and co-ops that promote wild land conservation. An informative leaflet is included with each piece.

WHY ARE SOME BUTTERFLIES MOUNTED VERSO OR FACE DOWN?
Most butterflies have two completely different sides with different colors and markings. What you see on the front may be completely different on the other side. About 3/4 of all butterflies that we sell are available either face up or verso. Some butterflies only have beautiful markings verso so they are only sold that way.

ARE ALL OF YOUR FRAMES MADE FROM WOOD?
All of our frames are made from natural pine wood obtained from a local family run sawmill that gathers only trees that are sick, dying or from burn areas.

IS THE FRONT OF THE FRAME GLASS OR PLASTIC?
Each frame has a sealed glass face

WHERE ARE THEY MADE?
All of our items are hand made by us in the U.S.A.

ARE ANY OF YOUR INSECTS ENDANGERED OR PROTECTED?
No!

IS THE COUNTRY PRINTED ON THE CARD WHERE THE INSECT IS RAISED?
No the country of origin is where the insect may be found but they are not necessarily raised there.
